Replacing old technology (porcelain/metal crowns) with new
all porcelain crowns
One common complaint patients have with old porcelain crowns with metal
cores is the opaque lifeless appearance and the common dark line
at the gum line. This dark line occurs due to the metal core
blocking light transmission
through the tooth, thus leaving the root artificially dark, as
well as the gums receding and showing the metal edge of the crown.
With new, esthetic and natural looking all porcelain crowns light passes
through theses teeth just like it does for natural teeth. By replacing
old porcelain/metal crowns with all porcelain jackets, we can re-create
the appearance of natural teeth. |
